Privacy Policy — Ahead

Last updated: 16 September 2026

Ahead is a countdown app for the days you are looking forward to, published by NovaNest ("we", "the developer"). This policy explains what happens to your data. The short version: everything you add stays on your device, and we never receive it.

What we collect

Nothing. Ahead has no account, no sign-in, and no server. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data about you. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting service, and no tracking of any kind in the app.

Where your data lives

Everything you add — the names, dates, places, and notes of your moments, the memories you write after a day is lived, and your theme preference — is stored inside Ahead's private app storage on your device. No other app can read it, and it is never uploaded to us.

Internet access

The Android version of Ahead does not request the internet permission, so it cannot send your data anywhere. The app works entirely offline.

Photos

When you add photos to a memory, you choose them with your device's system photo picker. Ahead only receives the photos you select; it cannot browse the rest of your library. Selected photos are copied into Ahead's private storage so they stay with the memory. When you remove a photo or delete a moment, Ahead deletes its copy. Your original photos are never changed or deleted.

Home screen widgets

If you add an Ahead widget, the titles and day counts of your upcoming moments are shown on your home screen (and, on iPhone, on your lock screen if you choose the lock-screen widget). Anyone who can see your screen can see that information. To share data with the widget, Ahead keeps a small copy of it in storage that only Ahead and its own widgets can read. Remove the widget at any time to stop showing it.

Backup

On Android, Ahead takes part in the system's built-in backup and device-transfer features, so a new phone can restore your moments. If you have device backup turned on, a copy of Ahead's data may be stored in your own Google account backup, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. On iPhone, Ahead's data may be included in your iCloud or computer backup, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to these backups. You can turn device backup off in your system settings at any time.

Sharing

We do not sell, share, or disclose your data, because we never have it.

Deleting your data

Delete individual moments inside the app, or uninstall Ahead to remove all of its data from your device. If device backup is on, also delete Ahead's backup from your Google account or iCloud settings. No request to us is needed — we hold nothing to delete.

Children

Ahead is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
